Join River West for a discussion of three short films: Sing, The Door and an animated work, 3 Misses. They are 18 - 35 minutes in length. Bring your comments and insights. Kanopy is free with your Multnomah or Washington County library card. On the Multnomah County Library website, go to the blue toolbar and click on E-Books and More. From the dropdown menu, select E-Books and More. Kanopy is the first listing under Streaming Media. Click on Kanopy and follow instructions. For Washington County, go to the toolbar at the top and choose Digital Library. Then select Kanopy and follow the directions.

Age Cafe provides a bi-weekly forum (via Zoom) for attendees to enjoy stimulating small group conversations, exploring issues, thoughts, and feelings on topics relevant to older adults. It is a collaborative effort of Viva Village, the Beaverton City Library, and Washington County Disabled, Aging, and Veterans Services (DAVS).

The topic for this event is ‘Getting comfortable in our own skin - becoming interdependent‘.

The Online Age Café is a forum for sharing feelings in a safe and comfortable environment about topics pertaining to seniors.

We will meet again on April 12 to discuss the hit Dutch novel, "The Secret Diary of Hendrik Groen", by Hendrik Groen. The book is funny, sardonic and timely, with pointed criticism about the life of the elderly in a care facility. Also, please come prepared with suggestions for our next non-fiction selection. Braver Angels Oregon is working in our local communities by holding workshops, debates and public presentations designed to bridge the polarizing political divide in our country. These events allow conservatives and liberals to get past the destructive stereotypes so we can have civil conversations about real issues that lead to productive problem-solving. Laura O’Connor and Jeff Spitzer, the state coordinators for Braver Angels Oregon, will discuss the work that the organization and its members/volunteers do.

North Star Village member Anjala Ehelebe will amaze you with facts, photos and videos about a variety of unusual birds. By the end of this presentation, you’ll have a greater appreciation of birds. For sure you’ll be able to solve this small quiz: Which birds (match the correct bird name with the bird) dance the Moonwalk, strut in the lek, eat lizards and rattlesnakes, and could poison you if you ate them - grouse, manakin, pitohui, roadrunner.
