NEV's Book Group 2 meets on the 4th Wednesday in most months (depending on book length) to discuss the book that we voted at the last meeting. We plan to alternate fiction and non-fiction works. This is the NEV's second book discussion group after the first book group filled; this is the time for more members and volunteers and your guests to join us each month, so notify all those who want to be in a book club! Meeting is held via our Village's Zoom teleconferencing account using your computer/tablet/smartphone. Someday we hope to fill our living rooms, in person! For now, you must register online at the NEV website in time to receive an e-mail containing the Zoom link and password.

You can't always get what you want
But if you try sometimes, well, you just might find
You get what you need
(Rolling Stones)
During this time of "safer at home" we are missing many familiar activities and people. In this 90 minute peer-lead Zoom session we'll set aside wants and reflect on what we truly need now.
This list of human needs will be our starting point.https://bit.ly/2BWtKej

Village Walks for Members or Volunteers
Are you interested in small walking groups of 4-6 villagers? We would love to hear from you. Several of us would enjoy a small group walking experience in the neighborhoods or possibly a destination walk. We have suggestions for 9:30 am and 10:00 am walks (or strolls) for villagers throughout the week and on Sunday.
If you are interested, please email Susan Gilson atwascocat@comcast.net. We will collect information on interests and get back to you.
PATIO PICNICS
Would you enjoy a patio picnic (lunch or dinner) with another Village member? Savor the season and get outside before the rains come.
To host a picnic you need to have space to accommodate one or two other people at a minimum of 6 feet apart. Each member will provide their own dishes, utensils, napkins, food and beverage.
Any village member can participate as long as you have a space to host or can travel to another member's home or a park if you want to picnic there. To join in the summer outdoor fun call the office (503-895-2750) or Julie Granger (971-266-7670) and give the following information.
1. Whether you can host or not.
2. Would you prefer a lunch or dinner picnic?
3. Your name and number.
You will be matched and together you can plan your picnic!
Office Hours: Monday through Thursday 10 am to 3pm
