General
Services:Our goal is to protect our community – members and volunteers alike – from this virus. To that end, changes were made to services to limit our members’ and volunteers’ exposure to COVID-19, while continuing to provide as much support as possible. While we are not entering each other’s homes at this time there are many services Villagers can still receive.
- Errands for groceries or picking up prescriptions, by either pre ordering or providing a list to the volunteer, have eliminated the need for folks to share space.
- Garden and yard work or a walk through the neighborhood, while keeping the required 6-foot social distance is happening.
- Struggling to get laundry accomplished because your machines are downstairs? Worried about the distancing in your apartment’s facilities or that the neighborhood Laundromat is closed entirely? Some volunteers can pick up 2-3 pre-sorted bags of laundry from your porch, wash them, and return them to your porch. Let us know if you need this service.
- BONUS:All members are being contacted by a volunteer to check in, and some of that calling continues weekly. Many members are connecting with each other one-on-one now, too. If this is of interest to you, call the office to be paired with another member or volunteer.
Face Masks:Many stores and markets are now requiring that shoppers wear masks. If you use public transportation or receive rides from others, having a mask will be helpful. Do you have one? Do you need one? Might you be willing and able to make masks for others in our Village community?
If you fall into either of the last two categories, please contactmargaretnepdxvillage@gmail.com
