NEV: Friday Update for 04/03/2020

Happy Friday Villagers,

 

This update is chock full of information about the current happenings of Northeast Village PDX during April of 2020. Read more to find out about upcoming virtual events and the launch of our new website! 

 

General

 

Services: Essential services are our top priority! If you or someone in the Village that you know needs a ride to a medical appointment, is in need of groceries or picking up a prescription at the pharmacy, please call or email the office. There are many service volunteers ready and willing to help out. 

 

Garden Yard Parties: Thank you to those who signed up for this year’s parties. All slots are now full.  

 

Phone Trees:This past week the Office Volunteers connected with every single Full Service Member to assist with putting together a phone tree. If you are interested in joining in or want to have your own Village Phone Buddy to connect with, call or email the office to be added to the list. 

 

Events

 

Current: Village events are happening online with the help of Zoom! Here’s what’s happening in the next few weeks in your Village.

Happy Hour:Tuesday, April 7thfrom 4 pm to 6 pm  

- Come gather virtually to enjoy lively conversation. Share a beverage and unwind! All are welcome to attend!

 

Morning Coffee: Tuesday, April 14thfrom 9 am to 11 am 

- Come and gather with us virtually for morning coffee. All are welcome to attend!

 

Movie Group: Wednesday, April 15thfrom 3 pm to 5pm 

–OPEN GROUP - The movie group continues its lively discussions, meeting on the third Wednesday of each month. We encourage you to join us, share your thoughts about the films we see, and suggest films that should be next on our viewing schedule.

 

We have set up a GoogleGroup to stay in touch with each other. If you would like to be added to the group, please email Ruth Romer at ruth.romer@gmail.com   The GoogleGroup shows our viewing choices for the month, or you may send an email to Dorothy at dorothymariecox@gmail.com

Book Group:Monday, April 20thfrom 4 pm to 6pm – CLOSED GROUP – We invite anyone interested in a new Book Group to contact the office to be added to the list.

Cancellations:  While some events are happening in new ways with the use of the online platform Zoom, some have been cancelled. We will continue to update our online calendar when this occurs.

 

  • Tour of Chinatown Museum has been postponed
  • April Village Square has been postponed



Planning an Event:Are you wanting to plan a virtual event? Are you hoping to migrate your current event to a new online space?  The Village now has a Zoom account to help facilitate this connection. If you are interested in using Zoom please reach out to the office via email or phone. The Office Manager will set up the Zoom event and you will be sent a link to share with your attendees.

Exciting News

 

New Website Launch: After many months of hard work the Northeast Village new virtual home is ready to launch!  Our Village’s new website will launch on Monday, April 20th.

 

More information about this new and exciting development will be coming soon!
