What is this?
NOTE: THE GARDEN PLANNING WORKSHOP IS BEING HELD FROM 11 - NOON; THE SEED SWAP WILL FOLLOW IMMEDIATELY AFTER FROM NOON - 2:00 PM.
Do you love to garden? Have extra seeds from this past year to share with others? Join us for our first Seed Swap. We will have supplies (envelopes, labels) to enable you to take home seeds for planting. Non-GMO seeds only please.
As part of the Seed Swap we are partnering with Growing Gardens, a local nonprofit that uses the experience of growing food in schools, back yards and correctional facilities to cultivate healthy and equitable communities. They will be giving a gardening workshop to help you prepare for the season by reviewing gardening planning and planting skills. By creating a planting calendar and garden map, you can start to imagine what the garden will look like for the year. We will also discuss when and how to plant the seeds we want to see flourish throughout the season.
This event is free and open to the public. Registration is recommended but not required. Please use the entrance ramp closest to the raised garden beds on NE 58th. Free parking is available in the church parking lot and on the street. (NOTE: this event will be canceled in the case of inclement weather. Check the Events calendar for updates as needed.)
Wheelchair accessible.
