This is a presentation/conversation with Tom and Rivka Gevurtz who will share their story of creating a queer family in Portland. They have been together for 30 years; the first 14 years as a lesbian couple, before Tom transitioned. They are the parents of a nonbinary young adult. Following their story, attendees will be invited to participate in a Q & A period.

Tom has been an educator in Portland Public Schools for 29 years, in addition to being a public speaker and trainer for Love & Logic.

Rev. Theresa “Rivka” is an interfaith minister, chaplain and spiritual director, as well as reiki master, in private practice at Shelter For The Spirit. She also serves as a member of the core faculty at The Chaplaincy Institute, overseeing the Sacred Justice Ministry curriculum thread.
