About this event
Are you a passionate cook who loves to explore new cuisines and cooking techniques? Do you have favorite cookbooks that inspire you to cook half the recipes but there is never the time or opportunity? Do you love to feed people and cook from your heart?
The Cook/Book Group is for people who love to cook and eat. The group will be limited to 20 people. It is not a drop-in gathering, and is intended to be a consistent group that gathers monthly. It will meet on the fourth Friday from 5-7 pm, in the Parlor at the Rose City Park United Methodist Church.
Typically, each meeting will be dedicated to a different cookbook. Each month, a Cook/Book member will present a cookbook for the following month. The cookbook for the following month will be available throughout the dinner and members will look at it and sign up for a recipe (no duplications, first come/first served!). A sign up sheet will be available. Members can take screen shots of their recipe.
The following month, members bring their dishes to a family-style dinner so that everyone can sample them. Members discuss the recipe, what they liked about it, any changes or modifications they made, and any challenges in preparing it.
