About this event

In cooperation with SAGE, this interactive presentation examines the trends in America that shows citizens are growing increasingly divided and more hostile toward people who hold different views and how polarization erodes trust, chips away at democracy and obscures communities’ ability to solve problems. It will also offer tools that support constructive disagreement to bridge divides to solve problems together.

Presented by Cheryl Nee-Giering, who coordinates SAGE’s Citizen Project to inspire and support people to work across differences to solve problems. Cheryl also has a long-term, continuing involvement with the Creative Education Foundation and is a presenter at its annual Creative Problem-Solving Institute. Prior to joining SAGE, Cheryl managed workforce development programs for a non-profit in the Portland Metro region.

SAGE is a nonprofit and nonpartisan organization that inspires people over fifty to give forward so that future generations can thrive. SAGE welcomes opportunities to support intergenerational initiative and conversations. The SAGE Citizen Project works with individuals and groups interested in inspiring and supporting people and communities to work across differences to solve public problems.
