About this event

During this presentation, Village volunteer Larry Ferguson will share why scammers see seniors as the "ideal target" for stealing thousands of dollars – and in some cases totally wiping their nest-egg savings. This presentation will include:

Definitions for phishing, scamming, trolling.

Why scammers love to target seniors.

Means for targeting: phone (robo-calls), text and email

Examples of scams to help you identify what is legitimate and what is a scam or fake. Have examples you're wondering about or questions? Please bring them all. We'll analyze them together.

Presenter: Larry Ferguson is a long-time computer consumer, going back to 1980. Alarmed by the growing news about seniors being ripped off by scammers as well as the increasing fake texts and email on his iPhone, he has decided enough is enough and pulled together this presentation for the Village.
