About this event

This webinar will teach you how to recognize common warning signs of scams and explore practical strategies for identifying fraudulent activity. The presentation will also highlight the Just Hang Up Campaign, review the Consumer Protection website and Hotline, and explain the process for submitting a complaint.


Presenter: Madeline (Maddy) Alvarado has served as the Consumer Advocacy Manager for the Oregon Department of Justice since April 2024. In this role, she oversees the Consumer Hotline, Consumer Complaint program, and additional key consumer protection initiatives. Formerly she served as Vice-Chair for the Association of Real Estate License Law Officials (ARELLO) and was a member of the City Housing Advisory Committee.
