About this event
This presentation will provide an overview of the information and referral services provided by the Community for Positive Aging (CfPA) and Friendly House Elder Pride Services.
The Community for Positive Aging is a 501c3 not-for-profit, age-positive hub that offers a multitude of no-cost donation based services, a devoted team enhanced by peer-run programs, and resources that empower you to learn, connect, and grow.
Established over twenty years ago, Friendly House Elder Pride Services works to enhance the lives of LGBTQ+ older adults, change systems that don't serve them, and address decades of homophobia and transphobia. Through programming, community building, education, advocacy, outreach, and resource development, we are dedicated to creating a supportive community where LGBTQ+ older adults can thrive!
Presenters: Katie Mesirow is the Information-Referral and Transportation Specialist for Friendly House. Katie was born and raised in NE Portland and graduated from PSU. She was a case manager with Aging and Disability Services for many years.
Lisa Nims is CfPA's Community Engagement and Resource Coordinator. Lisa has worked with older adults in Portland for well over a decade and has a passion for creating safe and welcoming community spaces for all.
