About this event

In collaboration with Upstream Access and Aim-4-Access, we are offering an interactive conversation about C-MIST (Communication, Maintaining health, Independence, Support and Safety, and Transportation), a framework for supporting at-risk individuals in emergency situations in a person-centered way. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss the different components of C-MIST, share their experiences, and ask questions in real-time. This interactive session will ensure that individuals not only understand the tool but also feel confident in using it to enhance emergency preparedness for themselves or those they support.

Presented by Erin Taylor, a passionate advocate committed to advancing equity and accessibility by dismantling stigmas and ableism while fostering belonging for all. With extensive experience creating accessible materials for training, workshops, and programs on topics of emergency preparedness, health promotion, and advocacy, she has presented on topics such as anti-ableism and disability justice on local and international platforms. As a proud member of the disability and LGBTQIA+ communities, Erin brings a rich, diverse perspective to her work, supported by her M.A. in Disability Studies from CUNY and a B.A. in Communication Studies from Western Oregon University.
