Northeast Village PDX has several standing committees, and welcome comments, questions, and new members.

Membership Committee – Vonnie Condon, Chair

The Membership Committee is responsible for:

  • Developing the membership structure (membership types, fees, access to programs & services, qualifications, etc.)
  • Developing recruiting plans & programs for new members
  • Establishing and overseeing Membership operations (when Northeast Village is launched)
  • Working with other Villages and Northwest Villages (the hub) on membership matters

Volunteer Committee – Helen Richardson & Margaret Baldwin, Co-chairs

The Volunteer Committee is responsible for:

  • Developing policies, procedures and documents relating to recruiting, training and retention of volunteers
  • Working with other Villages and NW Villages (the hub) on addressing volunteer matters of common interest to all the Villages

Outreach and Marketing Committee – Jane Braunger, Chair

The Outreach & Marketing Committee is responsible for:

  • Conducting activities to inform the community about Northeast Village and promoting its mission and benefits.
  • Conducting Village 101 meetings
  • Arranging for Northeast Village presence at community events
  • Posting Northeast Village events and meetings on web sites and media
  • Coordinating with other committees on recruitment strategies
  • Developing ways to engage prospective new members in the planning and development of the Northeast Village

Resource Committee – Anne Lindsay, chair

The Resource Committee is responsible for:

  • Identifying, locating and vetting community organizations, businesses, and other resources to provide services to village members
  • Conducting Asset Mapping of the Northeast Village area

Development Committee – Susan Bach & Joan Malling, co-chairs

The Development Committee is responsible for:

  • Developing effective strategies to ensure positive long-term relationships with the donor community.
  • Raising funds and other resources to support the operations of the NE Village (except for membership fees)
  • Writing applications to secure grants and/or sponsorships from businesses, governmental bodies, non-profit organizations, charitable trusts, and individuals

Program Committee – Joan Malling & Ann Anderson, co-chairs

The Program Committee is responsible for:

  • Developing and operating programs related to social & educational activities
  • In the current planning phase, developing “mini-programs” for the monthly Northeast  Village public meetings on topics of interest to seniors and prospective Village members
  • When the NE Village is launched, developing and organizing a variety of social and educational programs for Village members
