Dayan Qigong is based on the movements of the wild goose and enhances Qi, the vital life force within the body. The practice of qigong can help improve flexibility and balance and strengthen the body and immune system. You will learn easy self-care techniques to support flexibility and overall wellness.

Introductory practice classes will meet for 8 weeks on a drop-in basis (registration is required, but you can choose which weeks to attend).

We begin with 35-40 minutes of Taiji warm-ups (gentle stretches and self-massage), followed by the graceful movements of the Dayan Qigong set, for about 15 minutes. This sequence is beneficial for all ages & abilities; modifications are offered to those who prefer to remain seated. One option is to attend the warm-ups only, or just stay to watch the Qigong set.

Session Leader will be Michelle Marcyk, a 12+ year practitioner who is currently enrolled in the year-long Teacher Training program at the Wen Wu School of Internal Martial Arts in El Cerrito CA.

Please arrive 5 minutes early, wear loose fitting clothing and shoes with flexile soles. We suggest washing hands before class, as some of our self-massages involve touching the face near eyes and mouth.

NOTE: Attendees who are not members of the NECC or who have not attended a class at the NECC previously will be required to sign a waiver. Please allow time to fill out the waiver at the front desk when you arrive.

Also, regrettably, the NECC is unable to accommodate folks in wheelchairs at this time. Masks recommended.
